About Dave Christensen

As an African Professional Safari Guide for 30 years, I've been privileged to spend much time in beautiful African spaces - from national parks to cultural villages to game reserves... and more.

I love teaching folk about the great diversity of Africa. And I love photographing it all!

Having spent all of my childhood on farms in Zimbabwe, I developed a love of 'all things wild'. I trained in Zimbabwe as a guide after leaving school and spent the first years of my career canoeing on the mighty Zambezi River. This was followed by wonderful years guiding in Matusadona National Park, Mana Pools National Park and Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
Currently I lead private, bespoke safaris in any country that offers a wildlife experience in Africa...   A Step Ahead
My images represent the journey of my life... should you wish to purchase one, I will gladly explain where the image was taken, together with any other pertinent and interesting details.

Quality

From the initial capture of the shot to the printing of the shot, the utmost care and precision is taken to the deliver the perfect image. The digital fine art process is undertaken by a very established printing house, known for its printed limited edition art work, large scale prints, scanning, book reproduction and art production.

Experience

As a Professional Safari Guide for over 30 years, Dave has been privileged to conduct over 10000 wildlife activities (walking, driving and canoeing), thus allowing him access to beautiful spaces and image opportunities. This combined with a passion for wild things, Dave has been able to build up a reputable portfolio of quality images.

Gear

Dave shoots mostly with Canon cameras and lenses, which they have found are exceptionally reliable despite the hot, harsh and dusty conditions they sometimes work in. Although Dave uses a wide variety of Canon gear, he does most of his shooting with the Canon 1DX, 5Dmk4 and 7Dmk2.
